To those who are going to EuroClojure: are you going to have a re-tooling meetup?

pesterhazy14:07:50

Is there interest? I could organize an unsession

richiardiandrea15:07:59

pesterhazy: I am in!

cgrand14:07:01

I won’t be there sadly, but I think it’s an opportunity

dominicm14:07:33

I'd be up for that.

dominicm14:07:13

I'll be the curmudgeonly complaining about how vim would never be able to do that 😛

cgrand14:07:02

what’s your take on Stu’s “swing is great for dev tools”?

dominicm14:07:37

I think it's a pretty interesting take. It definitely would free me as a vim user from having to build UIs in vim (hard!). And ensure's that the clojure community consistently has UIs that work for data that isn't necessarily constrained by editor choice.

dominicm14:07:45

I'd love to be more unixy.

dominicm14:07:38

I had been thinking about ncurses-based tooling for clojure & loading that in a pane/terminal for uis to be more "open". I infact build clojure-check as a standalone nrepl client that sends a bunch of linters at the nrepl so it would be editor agnostic entirely.

richiardiandrea14:07:40

Let's organize one unsession on that

cgrand15:07:30

my main objection to swing is: clojurescript

dominicm15:07:03

I guess you mimic from the compatible uis available in the host?
