fyi, I had an emacs backup file in (named like somelib/.#core.clj ) and that caused uber task to fail with
Execution error (NullPointerException) at clojure.tools.build.tasks.uber/copy-stream! (uber.clj:51).\nCannot invoke \"java.io.InputStream.read(byte[])\" because \"is\" is null\n

Presumably this backup file disappeared during the copy process?

Seems like same failure mode as https://clojure.atlassian.net/browse/TBUILD-36
I had unsaved buffer open for a file in the library, so emacs made a backup... the problem went away only when I saved in emacs. probably not really a use case to worry about, idk why the emacs backup file is special, is it the name causing some problems
