you can use the java-command task which takes a basis
What is a basis? I think I understand, but I want to be sure.

ah nevermind the discussion also concluded that. but yes that is still the state of things. the CLJS compilation needs access to your project classpath which build tasks usually don't have. thus forking out is needed
