Is there any relationship between procedural generation techniques for computer graphics and test check generators? I'm thinking in relation to stuff like Perlin noise

I've generally been skeptical of using test.check generators for anything very far from testing (though I might be too deep into it to think more creatively) The primary reason is that the distributions are generally skewed with edge-case heuristics
