welcome to the great lakes!

i live down in cincinnati, so roughly 4.5 hours away, but i'd drive to columbus for a clojure hangout! i've only met 1 other person who lives in cincinnati and does clojure

Figured it was worth posting to see who is this state -- we're here house-hunting this week, and then heading to Bowling Green, OH for a cat show on Friday (then back to California on Monday).

I used to live in that area! I'm now elsewhere but happy to provide info, recs, etc.

Wow, welcome Sean! I'm a life long Northeast Ohioan, lived several areas, currently a Cleveland suburb. My dad lives in Warren, a Youngstown suburb, and if you're into BBQ, they've got probably the best place in the whole state called Cockeye BBQ, which is next door to an equally outstanding ice cream shop.

Oh, I love good BBQ so that's good to know. Warren's a bit further out from Youngstown than we really wanted to be -- we've ended up in Austintown. I see Warren has the National Packard Museum -- that's somewhere I'd love to visit!

I created #clojure-ohio and once I'm moved in and settled, I'll see if we can round up enough Clojurians in Ohio to at least do some virtual meetups, and see if there's interest in in-person meetups.

I moved to Austin 14 year ago but lived all my life before that in the area (Cuyahoga Falls). Small world. It's a lovely area, generally pretty quiet. The best pizza is from Rocco's on portage trail. The best burgers are from Swenson's. Rockne's is good for sports bar type food. Gorge is the best metro park and the ledges area is the coolest part of the valley national park. Blossom is a fun music spot. I miss it a lot. Hope you enjoy it as well.
