Following recent discussions, at the #visual-tools meetup tomorrow we will dedicate some time to demonstrate and discuss our practices of using the Zulip chat: https://clojurians.slack.com/archives/C02V9TL2G3V/p1735822577495379

Thanks! Looks fun
It was nice to see an initial big spike in active users on December 19th, with somewhat elevated usage over the following week or so. It would be nice to see more people using Zulip, unless they have a specific reason not to:
My only specific reason for not using is just network effects - except for data science, everyone is still here...
Yeah, that's a fair comment. I was kinda hoping our sponsorship would end on the 19th and that might encourage more of a migration but Salesforce seem to have renewed it (with zero communication between them and us, so I feel it was an oversight and thus it could still go away any moment).
Yeah, I have no particular love for Slack and would be happy to move over there if everyone else does.

Great idea. Like a hackathon or online conference?
@jayzawrotny We have had some plans at Scicloj to organize an online conference of talks about data analysis in Clojure. We hope the preparation for that day, exploring topics, analysing data, proposing talks, etc., will be a community process, where we can continuously help each other. Probably, all of that can be an opportunity to practice Zulip. Possibly, we can consider organizing a lightweight version of this and make it happen sooner than we thought. If you or anybody is interested in organizing that together, I'll be glad to chat.
Either of those could work!
