No clue if it fits here but wouldn't it be great to have a clojure coffee i mean like network chucks coffee or some other brand
Once the C++ guy gets a hold of Clojure coffee they’ll switch. 😄 If you did it I’d pair with an established roastery that already ships. And have them just add the name to one type. I moved away from Boise but still get 5 lbs sent to me every month from Dawson Taylor. And it’s got to be Colombian. But their Colombian’s vary based on market conditions etc.
But why?
First of all because of nice coffee. Second to support with the extra money we get from the purchases to support project from the community. Third to promote our language :D
I dislike to be a party pooper as much as the next guy, but I don't think any of those things make it worth it. > nice coffee That's a complicated matter to say the least. You'd need people specializing in coffee working for you. > to support with the extra money we get from the purchases Are you sure there will be any extra money on the table in this venture? That it will not be a liability? > to promote our language Why would some C++ guy buy a Clojure coffee? Chances are, they won't even hear about it because they have no clue about Clojure at all. Coffee by itself can promote something only if the coffee is so fantastic that it gets relatively famous purely by the word of mouth. If you don't put significant amount of money into marketing, only your community will know about the coffee. And only a tiny percentage of that community will actually care about it. And if you do put a lot of money into marketing, then it's just that marketing that ends up promoting the language - not the coffee.
If something like that was something that "just works", you'd see corporate-backed (or "anything-backed"?) food everywhere. KPMG ice cream, Rust cookies, BMW slurpee,...
So no babashkachino or squintpresso :(
