cider-jack-in opens the repl in :headless mode. Is there a way to make it open the repl in a buffer and not in :headless mode?

Not a problem. In the table on the FiraCode page, it mentions that ‘standalone Emacs’ doesn’t work. I brew the OS X version and use it in graphical mode rather than launching it from zsh.
