I'm not used to Slack but I decided to finally join this one to look for help with a problem that has been frustrating me for a couple of hours now. What's the best place to ask ring-related questions?

seancorfield20:07:53

Hi @johnnyjayjay02 There's a #ring channel that's probably a good place to start. Many popular Clojure libraries have their own channel here, although there are also some more generic ones like #sql and #testing

Johnny20:07:39

Okay, I don't see any of those channels. Is there an overview somewhere that has links to join them like the ones you just sent?

seancorfield20:07:20

In the left margin, there should be Channels with a big and if you click on that, you get the option to Browse channels.

seancorfield20:07:47

You can also just click on channel names when someone posts them in a message: #ring <- this should be clickable.

Johnny20:07:55

Ah. Awesome, thank you.

seancorfield20:07:43

(I don't know why Slack changed the UI from just clicking on the word Channels -- implies "adding" something, not "more options")

Johnny20:07:00

Yeah, that's exactly what it means in Discord ("Create a new channel"), thus my confusion.

nahuel21:07:49

can you change the slack chat font to monospaced?

seancorfield21:07:55

Can't see any font options, anywhere in the preferences.

nahuel21:07:01

me neither

nahuel21:07:10

bad for an old IRC junkie 🙂

seancorfield21:07:37

You can modify the .p-rich_text_section style in the inspector... 🙂

nahuel21:07:36

can you make that change persistent?

seancorfield22:07:07

Dunno. I'm sure there are browser extensions for that sort of thing.

seancorfield22:07:22

(I need to change it back -- it's driving me crazy now!)

seancorfield22:07:45

(reloading the browser clears it)
