why are more and more open source communities using slack?

Bottom line: everyone loves Slack, no one loves the alternatives, for lots of reasons.
@cloojure: I just looked at the Clojurians configuration and the meekan integration was added by @coyotespike before the admin team locked down integrations to admins only — we actually didn’t have permission to remove other people’s integrations until very recently. I don’t know whether @coyotespike is still active so I have removed that integration completely.

That sounds very annoying indeed. Presumably you authorized it to have access to your Google Calendar? Couldn’t you just revoke that access in Google?
