Submitted PRs for a basic logo idea + design tweaks to the Scittle homepage.
All of my hoodies reach all the way to the ground. π
No you're right it looks cool like that. π
taste the rainbow (parens)
short hoodie looks better to me than all the way to the bottom. When you wear a hoodie does it reach all the way to the ground?
shall we go with this logo? I think it's a fine logo.
I'm going to use it in a presentation
Hm wait no, more thinking. I think maybe the "skittle" idea is a bit far fetched. scittle is just a combination of SCI + little. Doing something with HTML tags may work better?
Hi, just checking in, I'm excited about the new logo and page layout concepts that Chris proposed https://github.com/babashka/scittle/pulls and worried that my brainstorming might have derailed the process π LMK if I can help/collab to get things finalized.
Awesome!!! It maybe the stripes could be Clojure blue/green? In any case... I love it β€οΈ
Oh the red matches the babashka hoodie!
Let's go bowling!!!!
I am personally not wedded to any design and it was a throw-away idea. I'm not too fussed if any of these designs get integrated, or if Michiel would like to leave it until something better comes along.
What does scittle have to do with bowling? Maybe there's a reference I don't understand? π
Thereβs a skittle game that has pins https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skittles_(sport)?wprov=sfti1#
I like your twist @timothypratley - although unfortunately we can't use the official clojure logo due to copyright reasons
maybe the ball could contain something web-related, like the html 5 logo or something more fun don't know. but perhaps the logo could also work without the ball
Ha ha that looks cool with the hoodie. Could change the stripe colors too.
hehehe, I was just messing around; having a Clojure ball is way too cluttered (IMO), but the hoodie does look cool and tie in with babashka. anyway I think the original was excellent, just riffing on ideas.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bowling_pin "Bowling pins (historically also known as skittles or kegels)" For reference, growing up in Australia bowling was not popular, and I'm not a bowler, but we did call the pins skittles. π€·
very nice! I actually liked your twist better than the original. happy to take it without the ball maybe?
we could choose a different color than red, since nbb is already the green one (node logo)
we could choose maybe traffic light yellow/orange-ish so have a complete traffic light series with bb, nbb and scittle
but I actually like the red too so maybe just the "skittle" idea is enough of a change
π€
too weird
yeah, agree
this one is fine. just remove the ball I'd say
or maybe
ehhhh
I think the latter one could be seen as too content sensitive for some
I don't like both of those, too cluttery
Maybe it should just be a single pin on a red circular background. How important are the sunglasses?
π€ π
not really connected with anything π
Iteration.
PNG render of that version.
If we go with @timothypratley's version without the ball I think it would make sense to extend the hood to the bottom of the scittle. It looks weird to me to have the hood floating in the air.
That's looking really good. One thing I can't help thinking is that it kind of looks like a "naked" mascot... like the clothes don't cover the body. That's good for making it very recognizable as a bowling pin. But for some reason I feel more comfortable when there are some clothes on the body:
but it completely looses the pin look
Maybe keeping the original character but putting it on a background is enough to tie in with the babashka icon, I think this makes it less creepy, doesn't make use of the hoodie, but is still visibly similar to the babashka icon?
I think the main issue I have with the "all the way to the ground" hoodie is that it turns it into a "trenchcoat or robe" situation. π€·
just adding the short hoddie versions for comparison
