@borkdude did you try this? https://github.com/frericksm/clj-windows -- it is unofficial, but it has non-powershell executable versions of clj and clojure

I haven’t. I consider my problems on Windows solved for now. My goal was to build a Windows binary for clj-kondo and that worked

I may revisit if I switch from Mac to Windows (which isn’t unlikely)

@borkdude thanks. fwiw, i noticed that choosing an install location appears to be buggy. it appears to work ok (so far) though with the default.

the feedback on windows we have been providing in #clj-on-windows might help steer things towards a better experience

it is pretty clear to me now after the last few days of struggle that something that can be launched directly (e.g. an exe) makes a significant difference for this situation.
