My company, https://www.dataico.com, is still hiring. We’re a full-stack Clojure(script)/Datomic/AWS shop using Fulcro for the front-end. All of our engineers are full-stack, and we also prefer that everyone have at least some interest in infrastructure as we run cross-functional teams. It’s a team-centric (not top-down) collaborative environment where you are responsible to your teammates first (you even do each other’s evaluations, for example, with a process the team develops). It’s a great merit-based working environment where bad actors can’t hide, and good actors are well-compensated for their contributions. We’re open to developers with a range of experience and ability, and compensation of course follows that; however, do not expect “years of experience” to carry a lot of weight. Demonstrated knowledge and ability are what we care about. We’re completely remote, but the company is in Colombia. English is our engineering language, but Spanish is helpful (not required). NOTE: We will consider candidates from anywhere, but the salary range isn’t likely to be attractive to North Americans. In COP it is 16M+/month depending on experience and other qualifications. Send me a DM in Slack with your CV if you are interested.
Thanks to all those who applied! We’ve closed this round of hiring.

@ag I completely understand your concern. You're right that this role has appeared frequently, and I’d like to clarify why. This is a legitimate contract opportunity with Comcast that has been ongoing for the past couple of years. The Clojure engineering team is quite large—50+ members—and operates in a contract-based model due to the nature of the projects and evolving business needs. Naturally, with contract durations ending, new projects kicking off, and evolving priorities, there is a regular need to backfill roles or expand the team, which is why the posting appears repeatedly. While it's not a full-time conversion role at the moment, many candidates have successfully joined Full-time from contract and contributed for extended periods, and in some cases had their contracts renewed multiple times.
@syed.hassan Thank you for providing that additional information. Your transparency is appreciated.
Location: Philadelphia PA (Remote EST)Is this open to contractors outside the US (with no desire to move there), assuming enough overlap / willingness to work during EST business hours?
@gaverhae Hey, unfortunately no. There are looking for ppl who are present is US itself with legal US Work Visa. Will keep you posted if any other global remote roles up my way.

Thank you for following up on this Syed -- so many recruiters fail to provide this courtesy.
This job has been popping up with regular frequency for the past two years. Is it even real? All my interactions with numerous different recruiters resulted in wasting time. A few Clojurists I have talked to also shared similar experiences. A recruiter would ask a bunch of questions, sometimes there's a questionnaire form one needs to fill out and then they disappear. If this is legit, it still makes me want to question, why is Comcast failing to build a stable team of Clojurists? Why are they insisting it to be contract and never full-time? Anyone working on that team (or some other team at Comcast), can you tell us what's going on with this thing?
There was a Clojure position at Comcast in Philadelphia last year: https://clojurejobboard.com/clojure-job/pz-sr-clojure-engineer-philadelphia-comcast.html The position is closed now, though.
