Hi, I'm looking for someone to collaborate with me on Lambda Island (https://lambdaisland.com). This would be a combination of technical writing and coding, as well as the possibility of commissioned open source and client work down the line. Curiosity and strong communication skills recommended. More junior profiles are also encouraged to apply, especially if you have some affinity for (technical) writing, and are looking for a job that can really help you improve your coding skills. This is for now a part-time, freelance position. The work is remote. I myself am based in Berlin. If you're interested or want to know more then contact me here or on email (<mailto:[email protected]|[email protected]>).

Are you looking somebody for screencast or coding or both?

kwladyka20:06:18

I have no experience about making videos, but it is something what I want to start to do. Well it maybe doesn’t sound like a dream collaborator, but we can hagnout and talk 🙂 I live in Ponzań. Not too far from Berlin.

Although I'm not necessarily interested in the job itself, I'd also like to know if you're looking for someone to help you with the screencasts. I've noticed that lambdaisland has been very silent in the past months which is a shame.

Hi @U07FP7QJ0, we've met at DCD '18, don't know if you remember... anyway me and my small company (http://7bridges.eu) would be interested to collaborate with you. Drop me a line for details! Thanks!

I'm sorry there haven't been any new videos lately. Between Heart of Clojure, client work and life stuff I didn't manage to get anything out. That said a lot has been happening behind the scenes, and you should start seeing some more activity around Lambda Island again during and after the summer. We're definitely coming back!

While Lambda Island has been great in many ways, commercially it hasn't been a huge success so far, so I've been thinking about how to actually build up a more sustainable company around that. I've converted my sole proprietorship into a proper company called Gaiwan. This company will do a mix of the current Lambda Island offerings, as well as paid open source work, client work, and other related offerings.

So I'm looking for people who are interested in both: bringing new life into Lambda Island, and building up this company. @U052TDWT7 given the above I'm looking to work with individuals, not with other companies. In the short term I'm mainly looking with help to improve the site and implement some needed changes there, I could also use help with writing blog posts and working on episode scripts. I would still record the episodes, although it's not impossible that at some point you might start hearing other voices on Lambda Island.

mdallastella11:06:32

Sure @U07FP7QJ0 I understand! 😊

jumar13:06:52

Cool, thanks for the update!

@U07FP7QJ0 it would be cool if you find a way to grow it and make it something like a http://egghead.io, only for FP

Gaiwan sounds like Taiwan 🙂

Hi Arne, I would really, really be interested in this. As a (former) customer of LI and someone who is obsessed with good documentation and the way people learn, this would be so much fun. I'll email you now!

PB14:06:19

@U07FP7QJ0 super late to the party, but I would also be interested in doing this

@U08UTJ5PB you are still welcome to send your CV and rate to <mailto:[email protected]|[email protected]>, I might reach out to you in the future when I'm able to hire a second person.
