if anyone is interested, mikethompson answered in #C0620C0C8 about my gist and said that using run! there was clearly wrong

pointed me towards http://nils-blum-oeste.net/clojurescripts-reagent-using-props-in-lifecycle-hooks/ which in fact does the same kind of stuff, ie calling some methods on an external library (in its case, a plotting lib)
