@devn, we’re using onyx on the minimum number of nodes (3). being able to use all the same clojure paradigms (reloaded pattern with trapperkeeper, data-first, pure fns) and leverage datomic peer cache all makes for a perfect storm of awesome-osity

robert-stuttaford06:07:23

also, i can have in-depth conversations with the guys who make onyx, which is a huge help

@robert-stuttaford: so we can say that Onyx is more storm-y than Storm? 🔥 😉

robert-stuttaford13:07:37

it was built by someone who used storm a lot and wanted to do it better. so, yes, that’s quite accurate i’d say

@devn: I deployed Onyx with Docker, Mesos, and Marathon last week. It went great. simple_smile

devn21:07:59

@michaeldrogalis: I can't say I'm desperate to jump on the Docker/Mesos train just yet.

devn21:07:28

@michaeldrogalis: Hope your workshop goes well tomorrow. My coworker Eli Naeher should be down there. Perhaps you'll run into him!

devn21:07:32

@robert-stuttaford: I'll buy you a beer if you put up a toy example of using trapperkeeper + onyx + kafka + datomic. simple_smile

devn21:07:17

I haven't used trapperkeeper yet. What are your impressions? If you're at Puppet I expect they're good. 😄

michaeldrogalis22:07:03

@devn: Ah, okay. You should be able to skate by with a little script that pulls down next jar files occasionally if you want to be minimal.
