Hey all 👋, A few years ago (sometime around 2020-2022), I saw a recorded conference talk about a LISP operating system that was developed in the 90s as an industrial standard in Japan. (The OS had an interesting hypertext / document system and was integrated into an early “smart home” concept) I’ve been trying to find the video or information about the OS again, but I have not had any luck Googling for it. (I think it was ISLISP, but I can’t remember) Has anyone here seen this talk or know anything about this LISP system?
Out of interest, tried a couple LLM services. One dreamed up GOS ("General Operating System") by Fujitsu. The other says it might be this, although it's only a Lisp-based OS, without mentions of Japan or smart homes: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Genera_(operating_system)
This video mentions both an OS standard from Japan and Lisp, but doesn't seem like the former uses the latter: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7RNbIEJvjUA
