William Byrd is working on books https://github.com/webyrd/will-writes-books If you don't know William Byrd, he's the original designer of miniKanren (core.logic's grandmother), the author of several Scheme books, and he gave this awesome talk which is the reason I'm here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OyfBQmvr2Hc

Some enticing-sounding titles!

I do not recall where I have seen it, but perhaps somewhere on Clojurians Slack in the last month or so. I believe the author was saying something like: We should avoid using the JVM because of its overhead. I did not read the full explanation to be sure, but I would not be surprised if their defense of this recommendation was that we should be maximizing our efficient use of computer hardware (I am not saying that I agree with that sentiment, but was curious to read the full statement and see where they were coming from). If this rings a bell and you know where to find it, please let me know.

Maybe this? It contrasts common lisp and jvm/clojure ecosysytems: https://youtu.be/hPulycyXGp4?si=Ap2HmnjIBbG0-xVN

Thanks, that is what I was thinking of. Looks like it was published earlier in #C8NUSGWG6 on Jan 23, 2024.
