You could bring them up in #C06E3HYPR -- although fair warning, the core team is pretty conservative about adding new features.
I certainly can't answer for them, but I think it's fair to say that Clojure has focused on stability and coherence more than feature growth, and that the Lispy nature of Clojure means that (relative to most languages) a lot of features can be handled at the library level rather than as part of the core language.
you can discuss in #clojure-dev and then if merited, log in https://ask.clojure.org
or even if not merited, you can log there to see if the idea gains traction :)
but feel free to ask the question in #C06E3HYPR first, I might know more of prior suggestions or ongoing work that can connect to it
cool cool thanks. self bias always dictates that my idea is awesome. I don't think it breaks the ethos, but heard, I'll post there first. Thanks!
Can anyone recommend any good dev conferences in Europe? Preferably not Clojure-centric (but perhaps that would appeal to the Clojure demographic), but covering a wide range of topics.
Code motion have several conferences across Europe that cover a range of languages. I've been to Rome and Amsterdam conferences several times (before Covid) and was also lucky enough to speak at several of them about Clojure. https://events.codemotion.com/
Indeed they are doing pretty good if that is their first encounter. Anyway, made this small video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PtVW9Fm4Ra8 showing beginners that we have other ways of looking at code like that
Was great to see the reaction of the guy on the right! He seemed to go through lots of strong emotions seeing the code. Clojure is definitely not a dull language!
This is the repo they are looking at: https://github.com/ThePrimeagen/ts-rust-zig-deez Nice to be able to compare the same thing in different programming languauges.
This was great!
