I just stumbled upon this really neat keynote, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1gGd7pKSpRM. There's been a lot of recent work in a similar direction by the clojure community (eg. scicloj, reveal, portal, clerk, oz, calva, etc, etc) and this talk does a great job surveying the latest research. I think there's lots of opportunity to directly apply the latest research.
