Has anyone tried glasses for programming/gaming or in general glasses that protect your eyes from monitors? like: 1. https://gunnar.com/gaming-glasses/ 2. https://www.gammarayoptix.com/ 3. https://www.hyperxgaming.com/germany/us/landing/eyewear 4. https://www.pixeleyewear.com/ 5. https://www.cyxus.com/ As far as I see, some claim to make the screen more sharp, some pixel optics augmentation, and some are purely blue light blockers, sometimes I do feel quite a bit of a strain on my eyes, and I am interested if these glasses are worth it. -- some of these glasses, like gunnar, are advertising adding diopters to the lens, for "focus", that too me feels like unnecessary far-sightedness treatment.

If you're hesitant, you might find that your monitor has a blue filter option. Generally I recommend lowering your brightness.

as far as specifics are concerned, my understanding is that there are a variety of different things that can affect people in various ways. in my specific case i found that using amoled screens (e.g. certain tablets) noticeably helped compared to ones that were using more run-of-the-mill(?) displays (e.g. ipads). i also found that e-ink devices were quite a relief. i would guess they probably are way easier on one's eyes in the appropriate lighting conditions (photons are only reflecting off at you), though they are slow and expensive. the following thread at blurbusters had some rather interesting info that gave me a sense of why blue filters might be of some help to some folks: https://forums.blurbusters.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=5361&start=0 (scroll down to the first image that shows some interesting curves) -- it seems it would depend on one's condition as well as specifically what the characteristics of the display under consideration are.
