currently facing pretty high odds of being fired for quarantining / working from home. wish me luck Clojurians, and post lots of jobs!

that's horrifying. have any of your colleagues expressed similar concerns to those that motivated you to WFH? talk to them! strength in numbers is never a bad thing.

Thanks... The entire staff was furloughed before it really had a chance to come to a head. We are hoping to possibly reopen in a month

respatialized19:07:36

argh, I'm sorry to hear that

Michael J Dorian19:07:02

Thanks ❤️ we'll get through it

I'd imagine that we may also see a class action lawsuit brought by people in similar circumstances to your own. Still recommend talking to your colleagues about their concerns around this for when the re-opening does happen - it may be the only way to really get your employer to address what appears to be a very cavalier approach to workplace safety.

fired for quarantining?

Michael J Dorian15:06:14

Yeah, the covid-19 stuff finally hit pretty hard in my small town, and I unilaterally decided to work from home. I knew the risks 😓

noisesmith15:06:05

better fired than being a disease vector, or dead

Michael J Dorian15:06:58

I wholeheartedly agree

There's a #covid-19 if you feel the need to vent -- lots of sympathetic ears in there! These are very difficult times 😞

US? did your state not have a shelter in place? And i'm really sorry to hear that and I hope it turns out ok for you

Michael J Dorian15:06:45

Yep, US, Kansas. The shelter in place order was rolled back a while ago. Thanks! I hope so as well
