I like the idea of starting with sequences... do you think any language that starts with the sequence as a fundamental type will result in LISP?

@dominicm Well, it's not working at 10%, I'd rather say 20-40% considering all circumstances. But there are a lot of aspects to it. Business does not care that much, because what they have now earns them money for almost two decades, so for them it's good enough. For me personally, while I dislike the technical side, my job is super relaxing, family friendly (in the true sense and not some corporate speak), I have enough money and spare time to do my own stuff, my team is okay from a knowledge point and pretty awesome from a social point of view, my teamlead, so from that point of view it's hard to argue switching jobs for a better tech stack while most probably loosing in other areas of work-life balance.

@sveri that's more than fair. I found that I was pretty unhappy being ineffective. Obviously the things you listed aren't mutually exclusive. I'm glad you're happy, that's what really matters.

@dominicm I agree, I would enjoy it more not having to figure out class diagrams anymore and having endless discussions about what inheritance should be used for, but yea, when my kids are older I guess I will switch too.

I have the a similar but different position: I will be dad soon, and I am a one man show in Clojure/ClojureScript in my company, but my tasks are not aligned with my interest (I wish to do more statistics/ML). I would probably easily get a new job in a python shop, but I love Clojure so much.

is active/active replication analogous with sync. replication ?
