I disagree with the notion that a programming language is just a language. As a developer who spends hours looking/writing code-- the language is pretty important to me. The core library within the language is not the only thing but the syntax and how the code reads too.

I can dig holes with a hand shovel but at the end of the day I would have rather used a regular sized shovel to make the holes. Less tiring, less effort

if it didn't matter, why would we keep making new ones?
