What would you think if a ClojureScript project is called skir?

3Jane10:08:50

I would think it’s time for a snack

The most important factor for a lib or language name is searchability, in my opinion. Look for conflicts with other libs/languages, and try to stay away from words identical to common concepts. Dart and Go are two particularly bad examples of naming in my opinion.

@U82DUDVMH Skyr is cool. Maybe I can use it in the future.

Jon07:08:18

or skor skar sker skier?

andy.fingerhut07:08:00

I would wonder whether that word meant something in a language other than English 🙂

Jon08:08:35

skr is a fashion word in Chinese recently since it's spoken by a famous singer.

Jon08:08:52

no actually meaning though

joelsanchez10:08:38

skir sounds better than the alternatives to me. just don't name it "skiar", it's a poorly-written way of saying "to ski" in spanish

skrrt skrrt

benzap12:08:21

I would suggest names, but I have a bad record lol

jgh13:08:18

haha whats the purpose of the project

Jon06:08:09

a very simple server built with Node.js . Simple but enough when I want to use it as a tool for webapp development.

Hello! Is there anyone here experienced with frontend stuff that could give me advice on how to build a specific drag and drop interaction? I’m struggling with some part of it (will explain if this is the right channel for it)

sundarj21:08:24

drag and drop has always been difficult. ask away, i'll at least try to help

hmaurer10:08:58

@U61HA86AG you again, always you 😄 I’ll ask: I am drag and dropping entire DOM elements (think of draggable objects). I want to be able to drop them in some places, but the issue is that the object being dragged is capturing mouse events (i.e. ‘onMouseEnter’).

hmaurer10:08:19

So my question is: how do I cleanly check which droppable target is under the cursor at any given point

hmaurer10:08:26

I’m using React by the way

hmaurer10:08:40

I have a few ideas on how to do it, so I am not really asking for “a way to do it”

hmaurer10:08:45

more of “a clean way to do it”

dangercoder20:08:55

I think I am in love with Clojure
