That was an interesting conversation. As someone who lives and works well outside of any "big city" My commute is about 15 minutes, quality of life is great, housing affordable, etc.


Salary probably isn't as high, but it doesn't really have to be.

my wife worked at amazon, not in the computer department, but in th fullfillment and its as bad as people say. And that is in germany where the laws are more employee friendly than in the US.
