I didn't get this from the article -- is this the official sun/oracle jvm, or is this some other jvm ?
The comments seem to make the claim that it’s an ARM JVM and that this is a JVM bug, in that the actual code for BigDecimal
can’t throw the reported NPE if the Java Memory Model spec is respected
