I learned a lot today at this conference hosted in Chiang Mai, Thailand called Nomad Summit 2017. Here are my rough notes (in org-mode format). https://github.com/beppu/nomad-summit-2017-notes

Talks 2 and 4 had really useful information for you programmers who live on the server-side and aren't fond of making things visually pretty.

Looking for an external keyboard for my Macbook Air. Apple sells a wired one with full size keys, ideal but because of the numeric pad on the large side for taking to a cafe. Their Magic Keyboard sells for a steep 119 EUR, is wireless (annoying IMO) and looks like its keys are smaller even than the ones on the macbook air.

Any way out of this dilemma?

kinesis ergo advantage out of the question?

pesterhazy18:02:50

I actually have one

pesterhazy18:02:33

but as much as I love the concept, I have found that the light touch of apple keyboard is better for my wrists than the mechanical action of the kinesis

RSI prevention is my no 1 priority

I own an "older model" of the wireless magic keyboard (not sure if it's what it was called back then) without the keyboard; the keysize was fine for me.

qqq18:02:36

I don't know if the recent models have changed that.

pesterhazy18:02:10

yeah maybe I should try it

pesterhazy18:02:37

may also just lug around the large wired one, that's one of the best keyboards I've used

And no way the apple keyboard is better for your wrist tbh

Plus the feeling is not even comparable, for me at least
