Hi, team. kernel_task stays pegged at around 15-20% CPU for what seems like 24 hours a day. Has anyone else experienced this in macOS?
@akiva I can totally recommend (after a good thorough robust backup) a new system install. Boot into Recovery mode, run Disk Utility and repair stuff, then “re-install El Capitan”. Worked like a charm for my similar problems.
Oy vey. I just upgraded to Sierra but haven’t wiped this laptop since I got it last December.
Luckily, I’ve multiple backups: Time Machine, Backblaze, Dropbox, iCloud. It’s just such a time sink.
@akiva Hrm. Actually I didn’t wipe it, for the first time ever. I Just reinstalled the system. A world of difference.
