@borkdude: As a former Scala developer, I can say that Clojure is in my opinion unequivocally qualitatively better than Scala.

There are really quite few surprises-- argument order and such is laid out consistently and in the way that leads to maximally composable/chainable logic

Well, Clojure is certainly simpler and cleaner than the byzantine C++-like mess Scala is, but I none the less miss static typing.
