@vemv the A8Xs are great - my brother got a pair, I’m incredibly impressed with them. I have a pair of Genelec 8030Cs - I like ’em a lot, but they don’t compare to the A8X.
Also, totally agree with the recommendation wrt room treatment. It makes a huge, huge difference.
The Funktion One is going to be too much speaker for any kind of residential indoor use.
(In a past life, I designed sound systems for off broadway / broadway style shows. I mostly built d&b / l’Acoustic / Meyer systems. Speakers like that - including similar speakers made by Funktion One - have characteristics that make them unsuitable for nearfield listening.)
Ah, nice recommendation! I'll take note of the A8Xs. Definitely appreciate the midfield focus
F1 is a little obsession of mine, I've enjoyed them in all sort of settings and know their sound quite well. Of course if I were dropping the big bucks in them, I'd move to a house that is at least remotely capable of hosting them. Also they really have a really diverse/modular offering.
