Thanks for the help @gerred. Everything on my system is identical to yours. I did upgrade lein (I was 2.6) but get the same symptoms. If anyone else can think of a setting or something that would influence this, even a long shot, I’d appreciate your thoughts.

The minimal clojurescript project at https://github.com/swannodette/mies works for me, and also using a chestnut template works… so far it’s just the luminus template that’s giving me this error.
