@shaun-mahood: thanks for the props man. Yeah it does feel good. But it also gets me spinning on whats missing and whats next. Ahh the human condition...

shaun-mahood21:01:26

@bhauman: Hey, at least you know that someone will be around to complain when you make a mistake simple_smile

bhauman21:01:04

@shaun-mahood: oh the benefits!!

shaun-mahood21:01:58

@bhauman: Are you going to be at Clojure/West this year?

bhauman21:01:10

I'm looking at it for sure

shaun-mahood21:01:44

Hoping to, put in a talk proposal and hoping it will be accepted. Went to the Conj last year and loved it (my first ever tech conference, actually), so I really want to go.

bhauman21:01:08

Yeah the Clojure community is pretty darn good

bhauman21:01:44

pretty human overall, I think the age and experience range trends a little older which helps a lot

bhauman21:01:17

less posturing more salty ... we've been there let's just hang out, crowd

bhauman21:01:04

oh and really smart group of folks

shaun-mahood21:01:38

Totally, I met a ton of awesome people. I loved the positivity of everyone there, and I've definitely never been in a room with so many people who are that much smarter than me but who also made me feel like I had something to contribute anyway.

bhauman21:01:08

yeah we're pretty lucky

shaun-mahood21:01:21

One thing that surprised me was how humble everyone was, and how excited they were for other people's success and projects. I went to another tech conference a week later and it was so, so much less positive and interesting. The contrast is what made me want to present, it's worth putting in some effort to try and keep and improve what we've got here.

bhauman21:01:05

absolutely, I'm really glad you appreciate it

bhauman21:01:13

and I hope your talk gets accepted

shaun-mahood21:01:12

Thanks, me too!
