@pupeno: my fault, I should have written channel name on the white board on Tuesday. 😉 The abbreviation is quite well known. It’s used to refer to the London Clojurians in twitter account and hash tag and github account, but point taken. Suggestions anyone?
I’m starting a cheatsheet for Cursive in Mac OS X: http://www.cheatography.com/pupeno/cheat-sheets/cursive-on-mac-os-x/
whoa, lots of cool monadic stuff here since I last checked in. Will need to find time to read and digest. I grokked the whole monad thing once, after an intensive day-long workshop at a Yow conference… but I’ve lost some of the clarity I had then; the funcool/cats stuff might just revive my interest!
korny: that's what keeps happening to me... grok, forget, rinse, repeat... though the understanding seems to be getting stickier with time
pinned items are searchable, but don't seem to have any special priority in searches
pupeno: right, but a pinned message is visible to everyone, if they don't disappear off the 10k message history cliff then they could be used to state the channel purpose
Looks like we are taking a Skills Matter break until September and then we'll be in their new space so no talks until September unless someone can come up with an alternative venue
can limit the numbers if the space is smaller, but it is nice to hold more than 30 if poss
the trampery @ old st has a room that can hold 200... it's quite busy, but i'll ask charles what the possibility is for a ldnclj freebie
i'll sound out first... i've no idea whether there is any real possibility of it happening there
thattommyhall: I think Kush is organising September https://trello.com/c/O73Ko1is/63-september-2015-skills-matter-talk-jay-fields
my mates sci-fi folk rock fusion band has a song about a guy stuck in an evil robot thats fighting superman https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=USqIPJ7QqaY
There’s a bigger space with a projector and the like, but it needs setup/take-down, so harder to do for a free event
thattommyhall: I know Karsten wanted to do part 2 of his talk on http://thi.ng at some point
I've put my face on October to try to get Karsten. If not I'm sure I'll be able to get someone else.
thattommyhall: swap Oct/Nov then or shall we find another willing victim^H^H volunteer?
While on subject of organising stuff…anyone want to suggest a day of the month for the project based dojo? I’m guessing 3rd week of month?
I’d prefer a Tuesday (as I travel on Mondays) but I need to sort out possible venues and align with them. If anyone would like to host this Dojo let me know 😉
agile_geek: Royal Festival Hall and Queen Elizabeth Centre on South Bank often work in a pinch. I've used them for weekend hack days before
