Liftoff is hiring a strong Clojure developer to work on developer tools and coding guidelines for Clojure: this is a senior role that would be working autonomously building tools, improving shared libraries, adopting open-source solutions, establishing best practices, and making repo-wide code improvements. Liftoff supports being full time remote. Here is a full description of this position: https://liftoff.io/job/?gh_jid=6012085 Please message me if you have any questions or you want to apply.

Is there a reason there's a limited number of states to work remotely from?

This is a very cool job description and I'm very interested, but I live in Kentucky.

Is there a reason there's a limited number of states to work remotely from?Too many candidates, too little effort

Is there a reason there’s a limited number of states to work remotely from?My educated guess is that we’re small enough company and we’re trying to limit the number of different legislatures we work in. Send me your resume and I’ll add it to the pool. When recruiters reach out to you they may know better all the options.

I assume that the contracts are different for every state because it's not truly remote. Just like in EU's countries we also need a separate type of a contract and a business entity in that country. So I assume that the same thing happens in US. So correct me if I'm wrong but I know from one guy's videos online that to provide medical insurance for let's say to a Texan the company needs to have a branch in Texas and do the agreement in Texas.

Yes, something of that kind. Don’t know the details. Can only say that the list of supported states and countries is slowly growing.

I’ve got an update on this position. Even though it is currently open for North America only, it could be expanded to other areas where Liftoff has presence. As well as for people who are willing to relocate to one of those locations. For example, London or Paris, but not limited to these two. So if the position is a good fit for you, please message me so that we can gauge interest outside of the North America.

Liftoff has a diverse, global presenceI doubt this line from your ad. And I also doubt that you meant "global presence". The https://liftoff.io/company/ page doesn't mention France and instead mentions five other countries. Could you expand on where this presence is located? Is there an article? It seems to be that the "about us" page is not up to date. My location is Lithuania 🇱🇹

Good points, I think this list of locations from the “Open positions” page is a better representation of where we hire. https://liftoff.io/company/careers/jobs/
