repeat: not clojure! but hey, if I get enough clojurians over here maybe we can change that ๐
And not Sweden despite the .se links? ๐ฅน
sorry! it's US, these are just referral links
yeah, noticed when I clicked on it
Good luck!
I just asked if we'd do visa sponsorship, I'll post back here when i get a response
they said "yes, depending on the need"
Put in an application for the Senior Engineer position - I'm happy to work in languages that aren't Clojure if need be ๐ Thank you for posting these!
I don't feel comfortable to see non clj(s) related jobs to be posted in this channel. Perhaps there should be a separate channel for such purpose.
I'm not an admin. I created a channel #jobs-non-clojure and if admins will like it then they may keep it.
*You must have an eligible work permit in the USA or Canada to be considered for this position.
if people really want me to delete it I can delete it, but multiple people have already applied from this posting. people are hurting and out of jobs and these are good jobs and a good place to work and so I thought it would help.
and to be clear, I'm not a recruiter, I'm not tasked by anyone to post these anywhere, this isn't a company carelessly breaking rules, this is an individual trying to help people in their community that are hurting and it being well-received enough that multiple people have applied.
cc @seancorfield for judgement
Imo, that coming from a person who is honest about that it's not a clojure offer yet, but who wants to increase clojure and clojure-thinking people at the company, this is different than a random non-clojure post. That said, if there's a specific channel for that, that could fit even better.
I get why the rules are there, you generally want to promote clojure jobs on a clojure slack, you don't want a bunch of recruiters for other languages spamming the channel and confusing people and drowning out the actual clojure jobs. I'm generally very much in support of this. on the other hand, there have been layoffs hitting our niche and people are in need of good jobs, there hadn't been anything posted in more than two weeks so nothing is being drowned out, I'm not a recruiter or spamming, and I'm making it obvious that they're not clojure jobs so no one is confused. this is avoiding most of the reasons for the rule in the first place and if we still want it taken down I will but it seemed like it would do some good to bend the rules given the situation in our industry
plus, if I know you from here and you apply I can put in a good word, which it turns out helps
(I've forwarded this post/thread to the admin team for feedback -- please remember that there are almost a dozen admins around the world with a very broad range of opinions: it's not just me)
yeeaaahhhh i'll just delete it
