Hi all - if you're based around New York City, my company, Urbint, is hiring for mid-level and senior Software Engineers. At Urbint, our mission is to make communities more resilient. We do this by pairing data with artificial intelligence to identify areas of high risk and prevent catastrophic loss for utilities and infrastructure operators across the country. We are a team of close-knit engineers, entrepreneurs, and data geeks who obsess over problem-solving, new technologies, and making a positive impact in our communities. Currently, we have a few Clojurescript frontend applications in production, with one of them backed by a Clojure backend (the others are backed by a Python backend). All frontend development is being done in Clojurescript (with shadow-cljs, reagent, reframe); we're quite committed on this front. Most backend application development is done in Python tho there may be an opportunity to introduce more Clojure down the line. Our tech stack includes but is not limited to: Postgres as our main datastore, Redis for caching at the application level, Google Cloud Platform, Airflow for ETL/workflow management, Docker for local dev + containerization, Kubernetes for deployments, ArgoCD, DroneCI, Storybook for developing our frontend component library, and more. The software engineering team (~12 folks) all run various flavors (Manjaro, Arch Linux, Ubuntu, etc) of Linux on top-of-the-line Dell XPS 7590. Job reqs: Mid-level (https://boards.greenhouse.io/urbint/jobs/4001370003) Senior (https://boards.greenhouse.io/urbint/jobs/4001372003) We might consider remote for an exceptional candidate, but we don't currently have any full remote engineers (some folks WFH 2-3x a week). Please DM me or reach out to <mailto:[email protected]|[email protected]> with your resume and/or Github if you are interested.
