Hey all, I work for TD Bank here in NYC. Our team is working on some really cool big data analysis projects related to securities trading. We are very open-minded technology-wise, but mostly the stack for my team is javascript / scala + spark / some python / some clojure / clojurescript (we also heavily use jupyter notebooks). I'm trying to make a push for more clojure in the organization and get it more widely used, and it would be great if there was someone else here who shared my passion for functional, immutable programming in Clojure. We are looking for a mid to senior level data science guru, and it's a huge plus is you like working with Clojure. We can offer you a very competitive salary, an awesome team of smart and friendly people, and the opportunity to use Clojure every day!

derpocious19:12:16

Message me if interested! 🙂

The team I'm representing have some exciting plans for 2018 and want to bring on dedicated, enthusiastic Engineers. Feel free to ping me 🙌

New York City

seancorfield21:12:31

As opposed to all the other things that SoHo could mean...

aleksanders23:12:42

exactly! if you were hiring in Soho, London, UK then I would possibly want to hear more

seancorfield21:12:14

<!here> When posting jobs, it really helps your cause if you are specific about the location -- bear in mind this is a global audience! There's a Soho in London and probably several other places. It's also a common abbreviation for "Small office, Home office" 🙂

Jonny21:12:15

Thanks @seancorfield - for clarity the position is based in SoHo, New York City 🏙️

PB21:12:21

When I see SoHo I always think about london

seancorfield21:12:37

@petr Me too, since I'm from England.

PB21:12:47

I live in the US and I thought it was in england

Matthew Davidson (kingmob)21:12:03

I live in NYC and thought of SoHo here

arthur21:12:18

i work remote, i'm in my SoHo right now 😉

seancorfield21:12:52

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soho_(disambiguation) lists several other Soho locations around the world too 😈

PB21:12:59

I work remote and don't have a SoHo 😞

arthur21:12:30

petr if your' ever in the Santa Cruz CA area you can hang out at mine 😄

PB21:12:29

Too kind of you. I may take you up on that one day!

arthur21:12:52

this is a great area for remote-co-working

seancorfield21:12:30

(some of those a TIL)

seancorfield21:12:04

And we should probably => #jobs-discuss or #off-topic if we're going to get too comedic about this 🙂

otfrom22:12:31

SoHo is in NYC. Soho is in London. (but yeah)
