damn commute
ruins so many interesting options
@jrotenberg: the really bad thing with commuting is that you need to do that a lot, not once
sometimes every day
twice
depending on how you commute (e.g. train) you might even carve some high value working time (no interruptions) from it.
but I know that it quick becomes a hassle and is exhausting
i’ve definitely had a few decent coding sessions on BART
but they are the exception, not the rule
commuting is nice for writing docs 😛
@akiva: lucky one, I need to take stairs to commute.
@akiva: Imagine the day when multiple parcels are delivered...
I’m going to get a Kickstarter going to install escalators for you. This simply is inhumane.
I actually like a train-based commute. When I lived in the PNW, I took the Sounder from Everett down to Seattle. One hour on the nose. Free wifi. Beautiful, water-front tracks. Sealions sunning themselves.
My commute is 25 minutes on a bicycle via a beautiful park ...
and yes, it's quite a lot of fun
I could do a roundtrip bike ride before using the stairs. That would make them less offensive.
right
I used to take the train from Sunnyvale up to SF. It was like riding in some weird kind of industrial shopping cart. With no free wifi.
east bay to anything south of sf is pretty much going to suck
[somewhat related] I really amazes me that english has a word for “travel from/to home to/from work on a regular basis"
german has, too.
I think you mean Germanhasawordforeverythingandtakedeepbreathfirstbecausehellasyllables.
@samflores: there is no word for CD player
