@voidlily have a look through the scroll back, I think there's a few SF ones. Also checkout the HN who's hiring thread, there's a few companies in there too. Specifically there's Factual, Climate Corp, and Funding Circle
CircleCI is also based in SF
@voidlily: Staples SparX is looking for Clojure devs: http://www.staples-sparx.com/jobs/
@jcsims: are you guys hiring remotes?
Just wanted to let you know that we at Elmar Reizen (http://www.vakantiediscounter.nl) are looking for Clojure (and Scala) developers in Amsterdam, NL. You can find the add here: https://www.linkedin.com/jobs2/view/55495781
@damionjunk: not typically, but it wouldn't be the first time. I'd encourage you to apply if you're interested. I can also answer questions later today if you have any.
@sjors: spark, hadoop, clj... sounds like my kind of thing, do you do remote (EU timezone)? (there should be an emoticon for this question)
@jcsims: Ok, I’ll at least send an email. I’ve been doing Clojure / “Data Science” stuff for a few years now, but mostly I’m a back end software developer working with my former PhD advisor’s science… I’m in the Midwest (Nashville, TN).
@dkvasnicka: thanks for your interest! I am sorry, but the job is in house.
@sjors: no problem, understood 😉
That's not a realistic option for me A family, two kids, a house with a mortgage on it...
@damionjunk: sounds like a plan. Like I said, feel free to reach out of you have questions. I'm on the SE side, but can point some questions at our data scientists if you're leaning that way.
@liwp and @dkvasnicka I can imagine
@jcsims: Awesome, thanks! I’m leaning more towards SE, I’m a PhD dropout. I still work from time to time with my advisor though, I think I found out that I like building things a bit more than raw exploration and writing, but honestly, I like both.
Same here - I did my master's work, but enjoyed building far more. I'm about to head in to work, but I'll be online after about 10:30 PST
Sounds good. I’ll DM you later. Thanks!
