Logged into slack after a long time. It's a comedy, people who have ghosted me are putting jobs again. Not sure if I should apply. Lol. I think the #remote-jobs section is a joke.
I’m guessing that it would help if folks who ended up being successfully hired would post back (maybe here? or in the relevant thread in #jobs / #remote-jobs ? IMO both would be best) to give the signal that: 1. this company / job posting wasn’t a ghost / fake posting. I got hired! 2. companies are still hiring juniors (IF they are junior, that is) But this all depends on the community pitching in. And I”m not so sure about that.
Recruiting is broken beyond comedy and the issue is definitely not confined to this/that slack or tech stack (whilst probably for other tech stacks there are more opportunities for interviews... including being ghosted at random).
Being ghosted by companies (and recruiters) is pretty common, unfortunately. I think there are a lot more candidates than jobs, across all categories, but that doesn't mean that the right candidate is applying for any given job 🙂
