Hi everyone - quick question. Is it better to have a full CV that's multiple pages long or just a one-pager tailor-fit to the application? I imagine it's hard for career shifters who are trying to break into coding to showcase their potential if they don't put down their previous work experience

> one-pager tailor-fit to the application This. But it doesn't necessarily mean you have to exclude everything that's not directly related to the role. E.g. if I were to apply for an SE role and had previous engagements as a DBA, a system administrator, and a line worker for an internet provider, I'd leave out only the last one and at least mention the others since they're somewhat related.

I do 2 pages: 1st page has my contact info, short paragraph of my experience, and 3 most recent jobs (goes back 5 years). second page has open source projects and education info

As a hiring manager for thirty years, my preference is for 1 or 2 pages max, plus a cover letter, tailored to the specific job you're applying for. So the three answers above are solid advice in my opinion. Also, I make this offer regularly: I'm always happy to review anyone's resume/CV and provide feedback. Feel free to DM me to follow up.

Thank you for the valuable insights everyone. I think 1-2 pages definitely seems to be best. And @seancorfield, will definitely take you up on your offer. Dm-ing you in a bit!
