I would say counter-seasonal, @trost.mario. My experience has been that hiring drops off bigly in summer and around the EOY holidays. So this is even better news. Perhaps a correction from the drastic cuts we had all year? September should be informative. I limit the app to three months history. Lessee how many more I can recover.

OK, the https://kennytilton.github.io/whoishiring/ now goes back to June, 2022, and there was a July-Aug bump in 2022, from 531 to 621, before a steady decline interrupted only by a Nov bump. We are now at 339 and counting for August, but few jobs are added after the first week, so mebbe down 40% from last year. Go September!

Oh very cool. Thanks for adding the past year to the timeline, makes for interesting comparisons!

June '22 had double job listings compared to June '23, looks like August '23 could get to 2/3 of '22, let's hope for a great September

I think the mass layoffs were like my approach to cleaning out the garage: let's throw away everything and find out what I really needed. Hopefully the big employers are now finding out. ๐Ÿคž
