a little late to the party here, but I’ll usually ask a question like, “What is your team struggling with?” or “What is the company struggling with?”

@porkostomus lately in all the interviews I’ve been conducting the majority of time is spent answering the candidate’s questions. At the beginning I tell them I want to help them figure out if we’re a good fit for them. So far this has yielded rewarding conversations 100% of the time. I would consider it a red flag if an interviewer didn’t actually want to field your questions. I don’t think I’ve encountered that though.
