@miles353 Great questions. I had recently been in the market for a new job and had considered that same question. For the last 21 years, I've consistently had salaried, full-time employment, so naturally, I look toward those types of positions. With a family to support (insurance, school, etc.), the risk and "unknowns" associated with contract work never appealed to me. However, at this point in my career, I'm more open to it. Turns out that forming an LLC in Minnesota is not all that expensive, and there are new markets opening up for private health insurance. It just so happens that I've accepted a position at one such company, salaried and full-time, of course. 🙂 However, I've warmed up to the idea of consulting -- should I need to look for another job in the future.

Thank you! It's quite interesting that you mention that as each type of position presents a varied challenge/different necessary response. 🙂 Thanks for a well thought out response
