There was a discussion about this at work yesterday. A lot of people seem to say "AI" when they actually mean "ML". Where the line is drawn between the two is of course another discussion

"AI" is a term for marketing people and founders pitching to VCs. "ML" is something that technologists can actually do/build

and where’s the line between ML and applied statistics? 🙂

I think it's almost a cliche at this point to say that people say they want AI when what they really want is clean data and linear regression

it’s not even that, usually people just want their problems solved and communicate using whichever terms are currently in vogue to sound relevant
