Hi, I’m using Clojure irregularly for over 10 years now. Unfortunately only in hobby projects. I’m from an RDF - data background and see Clojure as an amazing tool to complement it. Really want to work on the semantic stuff, terms, concepts and bring that power into the hands of end users. The ones outside the IT department šŸ˜‰ I have some quite exciting and interesting ideas. Maybe one day they will be realized.

Hello! Just in case you're curious to see what others have done - you can search for in:#announcements rdf here to see some projects related to RDF other people have done. Similarly, you can search for "rdf" in #news-and-articles, but there's only one talk mentioned there.

Trying not to sound too much like I'm writing a resume here, I'm either an Old Newbie or a Rusty Old Geek. I got my MS in CS in 1985 with emphasis on AI, which I got to work on for a couple of years before "AI Winter" set in. Worked for about 10 years in C++ and another 15 in Java. Retired early to Ecuador (from the USA) 15 years ago, but have tried to keep techie sharp by learning networking, installing microwave repeaters in the country in order to get internet access to people, playing with Common Lisp and more recently Clojure. I want to really dig into Clojure and functional programming. Maybe even try to pick up some remote gigs if I can work in Clojure. I know age will be a factor, but if a septuagenarian can be President, surely my sexagenarian brain can still sling bits.

I'll be 63 in just over a week and I'm still gainfully employed doing Clojure all day long so there's still hope! šŸ™‚

I'm 57, still happily employed and currently building a quantum computing library. I don't think, it is the number but the experience, muscle memory and willingness to learn new things. šŸ˜„
