Hello Folks! I'm Lucas. Recently i've been messing with other Lisp variants (guile, picolisp, common lisp) and Clojure caught my attention because it seemed to be a very good way to keep using lisp and getting access to the JVM and Javascript ecosystems. I'm excited to know other clojurians!

Welcome Lucas! How did you venture with Guile (and Guix I would guess)? I dabbled a while but saw enough people moving over to Nix which made me abandon it as well

I enjoyed Guile a lot! Schemes will always have a special place in my heart. Regarding Guix and Nixos, it seems to be a decision between a rock and a hard place. On one hand I'd love to have a OS that can be configured in Guile, but the hoops that I had to jump just to get NVIDIA drivers to work was a let down for me. On the other hand, Nixos sounds like a great idea, but the documentation was all over the place and with different approaches (flakes vs non-flakes), so I gave up on that as well (not really fond of the nix language either). Currently i'm using EndeavourOS since it's Arch with sane defaults, but hoping that someday Guix or Nixos will be in a more usable stage for my case

The Nix community is more lively as well, which was another point of safety for me. Guile -> Nix compiler, best of both worlds 😄

Anyways, glad to have you!
