Hi hi hi. I'm Jesse! I work at a little newspaper in the middle of nowhere in Canada. I stumbled across Clojure just bumbling around looking for a good language to build personal projects in. I wanted to make a little ascii game to learn the language but couldn't find a fast enough java terminal for what I wanted, so I decided to build my own with clojure first. I'm as far as rendering geometry with textures in opengl and can interact with the window through the REPL! Clojure is my first lisp and functional programming language (I've never done opengl before either, it's all been mind-bending). Before this I've worked with C#, javascript and php (and regex/html/css). Most languages I've used felt like there are bad parts I need to learn to avoid; Clojure is the first one where I didn't feel like that... but that said I am early into learning it. Anyway, I'm just going to lurk on here but thought I'd say hi before disappearing into the walls haha.
