I am wondering if interest in Electric is now large enough for a subreddit to reach critical mass. Reddit's slower, long-form structure is a better fit for a lot of the content here. And it is URL addressable and more broadly visible, which makes it a good target for me to write and communicate more in a way that is much cheaper and lightweight than building blog posts, but also the content doesn't decay like slack messages do. Q: If I made a subreddit for us, would you follow and participate there?

I think it makes sense, but in a way it's nice to have mostly everything in one place. If some troubleshooting or other news also happens over reddit, people will have one more place to search for help. (maybe the problem is more with slack being the tool for the clojurians community though...)

I think I need to agree with jazzy, with the added note that quite likely many more like me don’t use Reddit. So, not only would the content be fragmented but the community would be fragmented. One thing that may work though would be github discussions? I’m not sure though.

I’m happy to whatever helps electric grow. Can’t believe it’s not more popular given what it can do.

@jtlocsei I think the problem is that electric is best for skilled clj/cljs users but that's a pretty hard on-ramp for a lot of folks out there. Electric would be a big draw for folks into Clojure/Script in general. But those potential users would need to be presented more showcase videos about what it can do and how it works. Those sorts of videos aren't often the forté, or interest, of the typical Clojure user. So it's a bit of a paradox, I guess. One that mirrors the Clojure ecosystem in general. Reddit would be the type of place new users (of Clojure/Script via an interest in electric) would find that sort of media if it existed more. Just to clarify, I am only appreciative of all the work that goes into electric. I am not suggesting evangelism is something that should be done. It's just a simple fact that when programming tool (aka Ruby on Rails) has an evangelical streak, for whatever reason, it leads to a lot of adoption, and places like Reddit are where folks find the streak.

Yeah some more videos and blog posts as on ramps would be great. I'll have a think if there's anything I can create. I found Electric so much easier to get started with than say Fulcro or even Re-frame, but it's hard to tell if that's because I'm more experienced with Clojure now than I was then.

> Just landed here. 😀 But would happily move to Reddit.
